Billie Eilish surprises fans by participating in My Chemical Romance's new animated short film
The singer is part of the audiovisual project Prelude to The End, created to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the classic album The Black Parade.
The alternative music universe was taken by a major surprise this week. Singer Billie Eilish joined forces with the iconic group My Chemical Romance for the release of a new animated short film titled Prelude to The End.
The special project arrives to accompany the final shows of the band's residency at the famous Hollywood Bowl in the United States. The production is also part of the official celebrations for two decades of the emblematic record The Black Parade, originally released in 2006.

To bring the audiovisual to life, the band partnered with visual artist Lauren Tsai. Tsai's independent studio, called UNREAL INC, was responsible for producing the work that blends the group's characteristic dark aesthetic with new visual perspectives.
In addition to Billie Eilish, the short features major appearances by other well-known names from pop culture and entertainment. Singer Phoebe Bridgers, renowned game designer Hideo Kojima, and actor John C. McGinley are also part of the project.
The new work combines footage from the short film The Dying World, directed by Lauren Tsai, with the opening track of the commemorative record, called The End. The combination resulted in an immersive and nostalgic experience for the band's long-time followers.
Billie Eilish, who has recently explored various creative partnerships and expanded her artistic work beyond her own albums, once again demonstrates her strong connection with the alternative rock scene and conceptual visual projects.
So far, there is no official confirmation about an extended release of the project on global digital platforms beyond the screenings tied to the band's concerts, but the news has already generated immense positive feedback among both artists' admirers on social media.
